If a person was considering a 7mm build, and wanted to use the 180s and or the 195s, would an 1-8 twist work? Let's say for 2000 ft here in PA and 4000 ft in Wyoming! Lets use 3150 to 3250 muzzle velocity! Thanks

    Hello,

For use with the 180 grain bullet you will be okay in using the 1:8" twist with no problem and still should be okay with using this twist with a heavier 195 grain bullet.

Is the 195 grain 7mm EOL bullet actually going to ever happen? I purchased a 1:8 barrel from Krieger several years ago when it was announced, but chambering it to shoot 180 grainers hasn't been one of my priorities.

        Calin,
We hope to have these bullets out sometime this fall. Our backlog is getting reduced quickly due to the new bullet machines that have come on line . So hang in there ! We will get it done unless something happens out of the ordinary again. Our apologies for the delay.
        Take care!

Thanks for your reply, Phil. I'm looking forward to it! Yeah--let's hope that "out of the ordinary" isn't the new ordinary!

BTW, a light load with your 87 gr. hunting bullet for my M70 243 WSSM (1:10) produces the tightest groups of any rifle I own! It doesn't quite make 2900 fps and I'll look for an accuracy "node" up higher, but I really don't care if I don't find one. Strangely, the powder is Superformance, which I've not found to be accurate with loads I've tried in other guns, but this WSSM is sub-MOA at all hunting ranges (well sub-MOA)! Who says chome lined barrels can't shoot? It has its original barrel.

Thanks Calin! Chrome lined, hammer forged, cut rifle, button rifle, 5R. They either shoot or they don't. We just enjoy them while they last then screw another one on and start all over. Thats why they all have a threaded end. LOL !!
